Project Description

Hi. I am a single mom living in California. I have a 21-year-old son who will be graduating from the University of Evansville (I adopted him from foster care when he was 9 years old and couldn't be more proud of him!). Anyhow, he'll be starting the Doctor of Physical Therapy program in May. In an attempt to try to save money on rent, I recently purchased a condo in downtown Evansville for him to live in while he attends school. He will be moving into the condo on May 8th. It is walking distance from the Stone Family Center so he won't need a car. I went to Evansville three weeks ago to see the condo for the first time. It is lovely but there are still some loose ends that need to be done. Since I am not from the area, I do not know any people from Evansville. I would be extremely grateful if there were any people willing to help out with weather stripping some windows, tightening up doorknobs, handles, and any loose screws, repairing some bathroom caulking (and perhaps some in the kitchen, if necessary), putting up new fire alarms (I bought them but am not able to put them up since the ceilings are about 17 feet tall), replace some outlet wall plates, hang large and small framed pictures (I don't have a stud finder but can purchase one if the person doesn't have one and also hang one large framed picture that will be hung from a brick wall and I'm not sure how to do this), and take a look at a door that rubs against a wall. I will gladly pay for whatever equipment is necessary and for your time. I just ask that the person or people have some experience in these areas. Unfortunately, I am on a very tight schedule. I am a special education teacher and am only allowed to miss 5 consecutive days of school and, therefore will only be in Evansville from May 3rd and leave May 9th. With the exception of May 7th, I am available at any time of the day or night to meet with you during these dates. My son is graduating on 5/7, so I could meet on this day also as long as we are done by 11:00 A.M. There was a news segment done about my son, who will be living in the condo in Evansville. It was taped several years ago, right before he started college. The work done on the condo would be helping not only me but my amazing and resilient son. Please take a look if interested.
